Hand wash only with warm soapy water, dry immediately with a soft cloth. Never put in dishwasher as it damages the Damascus pattern and handle materials.
Use a whetstone (1000/3000 grit) at a 15-20 degree angle. Finish with a leather strop for a razor-sharp edge. Avoid electric sharpeners.
Store in a dry place, ideally in the included sheath or on a magnetic knife rack. Avoid storing in a drawer where blades can knock against each other.
Apply a thin coat of food-safe mineral oil or camellia oil every few months to prevent rust and preserve the Damascus pattern. Keep dry after each use.
